The Bacarolle collection that we have featured is the creation of Scottish born Jane Brown. Although born in Scotland, her inspiration came from a childhood spent in Singapore, where all of her shoes were handmade.

Later on in life she studied at Cordwainers College in London. In addition to this, she learned plenty from her time in a boot maker, where she worked alongside her College training. At the start of her designing career, she made bespoke shoes for a list of clients in London.

Since her debut Autumn/Winter collection in 1997, she has received international acclaim for her designs in key markets, such as Europe, The U.S.A. and Japan. Now working alongside Italian manufacturers, she has the scope to reach a wide ranging audience.

As for the shoes they're built to last, in the words of their creator "If you polish and look after them, you should be able to pass a shoe down to your grand daughter"
